The KTM Consortium has released the Manuscript under the kidsTUMove goes Europe – Cordially Fit project, funded by Erasmus+. This document shares findings from a scientific study on how sports interventions can positively impact children and adolescents with chronic conditions, focusing on their physical, psychological, and social well-being.

The study reviewed various sports programs designed specifically for young people with different chronic illnesses. These programs, adapted to each condition, showed promising benefits for participants’ overall health. Positive changes were observed in physical abilities, such as movement and strength, as well as in emotional and social areas, including confidence, social skills, and quality of life.

The manuscript highlights that these interventions are generally safe and well-received, with participants enjoying the activities and feeling motivated to engage. However, there is a need for more widespread implementation of such programs tailored to the unique challenges faced by children and adolescents with chronic conditions.

With this publication, the KTM Consortium emphasises the potential of sport in supporting the health and resilience of young people with chronic illnesses, promoting a more inclusive and supportive environment for young people across Europe.
