The KTM Multiplier Sports Event in Greece took place at the Melissia Sports Center on October 4th, 2024, for children with chronic diseases (CD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from Ukraine. Fifteen children aged 10-14 attended, with invitations sent to parents in advance and confirmed by follow-up calls. Organized by three CRE.THI.DEV. members and four coaches, the event offered a welcoming space for inclusive sports activities, allowing children to connect and have fun.

The primary goals were to introduce the KTM project, highlight sports’ benefits for children with health challenges, and showcase positive impacts on physical and emotional well-being.

The program began at 16:30 with a presentation about the KTM project’s mission to empower children. Coaches trained with the KTM Manual led games from 17:00 to 17:50, promoting teamwork and fun. After a break, the children played an adapted version of football, “Football Otherwise,” ensuring every child could participate regardless of physical ability.

A discussion session followed, where the children shared their experiences and reflected on teamwork, respect, and inclusivity. They also completed evaluation forms, while coaches provided insights into the KTM Trainer Manual through an online survey. Parents, coaches, and trainers received leaflets with a QR code linking to the KTM website for additional information and educational materials.

This event demonstrated how sports foster resilience, inclusivity, and physical health for children with CD and PTSD. CRE.THI.DEV., coaches, and families collaborated to provide a supportive environment, showing that sports offer not only physical benefits but also emotional support, connection, and a sense of community.
